I love him, I love him, I love him

I love the scene in Dan in Real Life where the single dad goes to pick up his fourteen year old daughter at the coffee shop and finds her with (gasp!) a boy. He tosses her in the car with her sisters and driving off with her crying all the way, “But Dad, I love him, I love him, I love him, I love him.” Even miles down the road, she’s still mouthing it, “I love him, I love him, I love him.”
I so remember those feelings of young love. When you just can’t wait to see the other person, when that other person is the absolute focus of your thoughts every minute of the day. Honey is in love like that…with the Golden Retriever next door. She waits by the back door with her ears perked, listening for the any tiny sound that might alert her to Cash’s presence outside and she goes nuts to get outside when he’s in his yard. Today she kissed him all over the face. And when I made her come inside, she wanted to tell me, like Dan’s daughter did when he kept her separated from her boyfriend, “You are a murderer of LOVE!”
