1:30 AM Duet

I’m keeping my three and 1/2 month old niece this week for my sister. She’s totally precious, but for most of the day yesterday she looked at me with great suspicion–along the lines of who are you and what did you do with my mom?!?!

Somewhere around 1:30 this morning though, she looked up with big blue eyes and smiled at me. “Hello, Aunt Steph.” And when I started humming a song that I can’t get out of my mind, she started singing along before she drifted back to sleep. That’s what I call aunt-niece bonding.

So she won’t remember the week she spent with her aunt when she was three months old. But I will.

Thanks for your lovely post on my blog, Steph (and for the encouragement on eHarl)! I’m going to enjoy the next couple of weeks of calm before this place turns into Drama Queen central while I wrestle with the revisions.

Love the cover of your book by the way. How exciting for you.
