A Cautionary Tale

I live in Florida, the Sunshine State. I know to wear sunscreen, therefore, I don’t get sunburned very often. It was really windy and a little chilly yesterday, so at my son’s soccer games, I was pretty well covered up. Only my face and the bottom half of my legs, from the end of my capris to my feet were showing. About halfway through the first game I figured I better put sunscreen on my face. Didn’t even consider my legs…until about two hours after the second soccer game when I was almost home and realized one of my legs was really stinging. Only one, though–the one that I cross that sticks up on top of the other one. I have ONE sunburned leg. And when I say sunburned, I mean fuschia. Like so sunburned it hurts to walk. So sunburned you could probably fry an egg on my leg.
So sunburned that parents will be using me as a cautionary tale for a long, long time to come. “Hey, kids, remember the day Mrs. Stephanie forgot her sunscreen? You don’t want to look like that, do you?”

Waah! Do you have any aloe vera gel in the house? It really helps.
I once sunbathed on the roof of my dorm, lying on my back with my legs bent. Don’t know why, guess I thought it would be more comfortable … but my KNEES looked like lobsters.

Sierra, I found this stuff called Solar Recover a couple of years ago when one of the kids got a burn over spring break. It’s a spray with a bunch of essential oils and herbs. I don’t know why it works, but it does, LOL.
