I finally saw Australia, the movie all my friends were talking about last summer. Oh my gosh. Now I know why. From the very beginning, I was hooked, grinning as Nicole Kidman as the very proper Lady Sara met the very rough, very handsome Drover. The movie was full of romantic cliches, but for me the key to a movie’s (or book’s) success, is do I buy into it? And yes, I did. In a big way.

The movie was long and there were several scenes where I thought they could have ended it and I would’ve been happy, but the end was sooooo good. And well, if I hadn’t seen the end, I would’ve missed Hugh Jackman crying. The man has talent, that’s all I can say. So, if you’re a romance lover, or if you like epic movies with sweeping scenery, or if you just like Hugh Jackman, this movie is a definite thumbs up.
