It’s Me or the Dog

Our toy poodles are cute. And smart. But with the smart comes easily picking up some bad habits. Like trying to get to our food when we’re eating. Like jumping on people when they come to the door. Like barking at everything that drives, walks, jogs, or hops by our house. I’ve been watching It’s Me or the Dog and apparently small dogs should be trained just like large dogs. Ours know a few adorable tricks, but they really need some work on the basics.

So, we’re working on getting them to sit, come when we call, be calm when people come to the door, and walk calmly on the leash. These are not easy things to teach. So far, all I get when I tell C.C. to sit is a defiant look, unless I have a treat in my hand. I’ll keep you posted.

Steph, I haven’t heard of “It’s Me or the Dog.” When is it on?

I think my younger lab mix needs to watch it.

It’s an awesome show. I have to tell ya though, it’ll make you feel guilty if you don’t walk or play with your dog(s)!
