As a mom, a former children’s minister, youth pastor’s wife, and now pastor’s wife, I’ve probably sent kids or chaperoned kids on hundreds of trips. The church bus accident in Mississippi has consumed my thoughts today. The children and their families have been in my prayers almost every moment since I’ve heard.

The mother of one of the injured children happened to be the speaker at a women’s event at our church yesterday. She mentioned in her talk that God sometimes allows things to happen to us that are more than we can handle on our own…but He is always, always with us as we go through the hard things in life.

I pray that they feel God’s presence with them even through this–that He would be with each child and each family in a real and palpable, absolutely unmistakable way.
