			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s foggy outside today, really foggy, so much so that I could barely see the pool from the back door when I got up.  I think that&#8217;s the way my brain looks like on the inside.  Thoughts that should string together in some kind of sense are wandering around bumping into each other and giving me a headache.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m finishing <span style="font-style:italic;">Smoke Screen</span>, due out in January, so I have a really close deadline.  I&#8217;ve had deadlines for revisions before, but this is my first book deadline.  I&#8217;ve got laundry hidden in every closet and dishes piled in the sink. My husband calls every night to ask if he&#8217;s picking up chinese or pizza (good man).  There&#8217;s definitely a reason it&#8217;s called a <span style="font-style:italic;">dead</span>line, and I&#8217;m pretty sure it&#8217;s because if anybody messes with me while I&#8217;m working, they&#8217;re dead.  </p>
<p>I&#8217;m guessing after I get the manuscript in the mail to my editor next week that someone&#8217;s going to have to peel me off the sand at the beach, because I&#8217;m not moving voluntarily.</p>
