I also love the classics: Louisa May Alcott, Jane Austen, Shakespeare (my favorite is Hamlet). I even like the occasional Hemingway. But it’s been years–and no, I’m not going to tell you how many–since I’ve read anything literary, so when I saw this challenge on My Friend Amy I thought it would be fun! I’m gonna get the kids in on it, too. (I’m sure they’ll be excited about the possibility of reading Thomas Hardy, aren’t you?)

So here’s the challenge: Read ten books from the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die list between March 1 and Dec 31, 2009. At the end of the year, we’ll be 1% more well read than we were before. Click here to find out more about the challenge and join in!
